Jane Lynch to be Honored at the L.A. Gay Lesbian Center’s 39th Anniversary Gala

Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Lynch (Glee, The L Word, Best in Show) will be presented with the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center’s Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award on November 13, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. Matthew Morrison (Lynch’s Glee co-star and Broadway veteran) will present her with the award.

Lynch serves on the board of directors at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center and has been a spokesperson for LGBT issues and causes in previous years. She hosted the Center’s 2008 soiree “An Evening with Women: Celebrating Art, Music & Equality” and stepped back onto the stage the following year alongside her The L Word co-stars for some heated fun with lesbians lined up from corner to corner.

Newlyweds Lynch and Dr. Lara Embry were married in Massachusetts at the beginning of 2010.

The Glee phenomenon said recently, “One thing I’ve learned during my time working with the Center is that this organization—aside from helping homeless youth, saving the lives of people with HIV and all that community service stuff—really knows how to throw a party [and] the Anniversary Gala is no exception. I’ve been to many of them!”

This time, however, she will be given an honor all her own. “Being honored at the gala is very flattering because the Center is such an important organization to me and this event in particular is such an important fundraiser for the Center’s amazing services. Just by being a part of it, you know you’re helping to make a difference for the LGBT community.”
