Red Hot Chili Peppers rejects 'Glee' Opportunity

Although there are a number of musicians from Lady Gaga to Billy Joel who are willing to throw their hands up in support of Fox's "Glee," not every musician has been nearly so kind. For evidence of this, all you have to do is check out the newest words from Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis about potentially having his band's music included in the program.

In an interview with Hollywood Life, Kiedis was at least reasonably kind when it came to talking about rejecting the idea of licensing his music:

“Generally speaking, that doesn’t excite me. Nothing against Glee or any of those American Idol type shows, but you know … music that is near and dear to our hearts and the people we wrote it for and play it for, it doesn’t make sense to be seen in a television format. It seems emotionally displaced.”

Red Hot Chili Peppers is joining Kings of Leon as one of the few bands to completely shun the show, though Kiedis did it a bit more in polite fashion. Coldplay at first said no to opening up their catalog, but has since changed their tune.
